On Saturday, the 24th of Feburary, Izzah, Azimah , Rueban And I went to the kids central tv host audition. We were surprised to see an overwhelming response on the day itself. When we arrived at mediacorp at 8.30, there was already a long chain of participants waiting outside the building , to register.

After much waiting, we finally got our audition numbers and scripts.

My script was :

” Do you know what’s marvellous? Everything on KCDC this march with….

Marvellous March….

We have got a laugh out loud line up of new and fun shows like, Monster allergy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So stay tuned to KCDC , you very own kids central direct connection,

every weekend from 9am to 11.30 am, for a marvellously great time.”

I couldn’t believe that I had to put in so much enthusiastism just to read this script.

We waited… for nerve wrecking 6 hours, just to recite the script infront of a camera and 2 judges, confined in a small room, for less than a minute. How pathetic.

The black rectangle represents the camera man, the 2 blue circles represents the judges and the red X, represents the position each constestant stood on.

When it was my turn, I stuttered somehow and forgot one line. When I left the room, I was kind of upset. I wasn’t upset that I wouldn’t make it, because this was just for the experience. I was upset that I didn’t give my full potential. Most of us felt that way. We could have done better, if we weren’t nervous.

Well, it’s all over . Atleast we tried :-)

Good luck to the rest ya!!

Yesterday, I went for my Mass com interview at Ngee Ann poly.

On Saturday morning, before I left for the audition, I called the JPSAE hotline,

” Welcome to Ngee Ann poly. To check whether you’re shorlisted for the mass com and film sound video interview, please insert the numerical values of your identification number.”

(types in numbers quickly and anxiously)
(sudden pause)

“Congratulations! You have been shorlisted for the interview. Please report to…”

I was overjoyed when I heard the word, congratulations.

I waited for my interview, 2 days later, which was yesterday.

Apparently, there were 2 interviews. The first was to confirm my achievements and my contributions to my secondary school.

The second was horrible. I was grouped with 2 other applicants. We were told to do an impromptu group presentation. All 3 of us were stunned.

We talked and bonded outside the room while waiting for our turn.

Finally when we entered the room, we were told to choose 1 card of 5 randomly. Each card represents a certain topic that we will have to present on.

We chose the card and unfortunately, we got journalism. Our task was to come with an original local magazine. We had to state who this magazine is for and why is this magazine necessary. Inaddition to that, 3 feature stories had to be included. However, this had to be done in only 10 MINUTES!

We managed to fulfill every task given and after that 10 minutes, we had to present for 5 minutes.

During the presentation, we also had to draw out a rough sketch of our magazine cover.

The presentation was unscripted, therefore, we could blurt out whatever we wanted to say.

It was a tough interview. Especially the group presentation.

For now… I have to wait till the 6th of March.. Even if I get enrolled or not, atleast I tried my best. :-)

Here is a joke extracted from Reader’s digest,February issue.

A little guy gets a window seat on a plane. A burly , mean-looking guy plops down in the seat next to him and promptly falls asleep.

During the flight, the little guy starts to feel airsick but is afraid to wake the big guy up to get to the restroom.

Suddenly, the plane hits an air pocket and the little guy pukes all over the big guy’s chest. Five minutes later, the big guy wakes up,looks down, and sees the vomit all over him.

“So,” says the little guy, ” are you feeling better now?”

David and I went to catch the sneak preview of the golden globe winning, Dreamgirls, starring well known artistes such as Beyonce knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie foxx.

The show is absolutely fantastic. It’s not like any usual movie , where there are tons of dialouges . This show, has alot of singing, which I adore the most. Break away from all the violent and senseless movies. Go watch this movie as it shows us how one can live their dream.

In this movie, Jennifer Hudson’s charactor lived her dream, by releasing her own album . I shan’t leak out any other information from this movie

You guys should catch it. I rate this movie 4 popcorns out of 5.

Okay, I am kind of agitated that my blogger blog is still having the posting problem. Each time i publish a new post, it doesn’t show my blog. However, when I click the archive button, the blog is updated.

I find it extremely irritating. I might want to use this livejournal blog permanantly as it doesn’t give me ridiculous problems like how blogger does so.

Reminiscing the past

9th of February 2007, was the day every 2006 graduated O-lvl student was anticipating. It was the day where their fates were known.

I had mixed emotions on the day itself. I was both eager and frightened to know my results. I decided to head to school where I could atleast get away from thoughts of the results.

School that day was usual, everyone was having an amazing time in school. However, behind all the laughter and smiles, there was a sense of uncertainty and nervousness. In most of the students’ minds, were the release of the results. No matter how hard we tried, most of us couldn’t shake the thought of the O-lvl results away from minds.

We were distracted during GP lesson and Mr Lim decided not teach. In the end, we took pictures. :-)

Millennia Institute 07S8 rocks!

The time grew nearer to 2.30, when the results were about to be realised. I returned to YISS, feeling more anxious and at the same time, frightened. It was pleasing to see all my 4e3 classmates and YISS schoolmates. It was like a class gathering rather.

At 2.30, everyone proceeded to the hall. We all sat down , eager to recieve the purple slip with our fate in it. After waiting, it was my turn. I stood up and brisked walk to my form teacher. I remember shivering in excitement and in fear. I greeted my form teacher and sat quietly . After verifying that I collected my results, my teacher told me my results.

Upon hearing it, I felt rather happy that I qualify for JC. However, my L1R5 score was the maximum to enter JC, or you can say, my result was on the dot to enter a JC.
I didn’t know whether to feel elated or whether not be dissapointed. Elated because I am able to make it into many poly courses and dissapointed because I couldn’t get into CJC, the school that I have always been wanting to admit into.

After two days of discussions with my parents, I chose to enrol into Ngee Ann Poly to do business studies . I have also applied to Mass Com through JPSAE because I missed the english mark by one grade. All I can do now, is to wait to 24th of Feburary, where I will know if I am shortlisted for the interview. *cross fingers*

Alright guys, I shall end my post here. I wish all applicants the best of luck to enter the course of your choice !.

My hands are itching to blog today…………………

February 3, 2007

It has been ages since I last updated this blog. Probably because of the tight school shecdule i have and most likely, I am too lazy to blog.

School has been both dreadful and exciting. However, I have such a great time each day with my schoolmates. Everyday ,we will do something hilarious and laugh hysterically like no ones business.

My class had an outing at Sentosa yesterday. It has been like 3 years since I last stepped into Sentosa. I must say, there are major improvements made at Sentosa.

I tried the Sentosa luge and it was extremely fun and exciting. The ride down the hill on the luge was the best part however, going up the hill, was thrilling. My friends and I had to sit on the chairlift to reach the top of the hill. The chairlift is like a cable car except, it is not covered and the chair is like a bench. It was exhilirating.
